Jones Road Beauty Founder Bobbi Brown Shares Her Skin Care Musts

“I set out to make the makeup equivalent of a Swiss Army Knife – products that are clean, easy-to-use, multi-purpose and that work for any skin type or skin tone,” said Bobbi Brown, the ‘no-makeup makeup’ guru and founder of the minimalist, three-year-old Jones Road Beauty.

The evolution of Jones Road came after Brown, a 40-year-plus beauty industry veteran, left her namesake Bobbi Brown Cosmetics in 2016. Not one to sit on the sidelines after retirement, it quickly became clear: Brown was looking for a new hobby. After studying the crowded marketplace, Brown asked herself: “Why can't I find makeup products that are both clean and high-performance - that don't sacrifice one for the other?” In a nutshell, Jones Road Beauty was born after “looking for something that didn't yet exist,” Brown said of her universal collection of pieces for all ages, skin types and skin tones. She was also adamant about her makeup being free of nasty parabens, sulfates and over 2,700 other potentially harmful ingredients.

And following the entrepreneurial spirit that helped launch her first act, Brown also recently opened a trio of Jones Road Beauty brick-and-mortar stores in New York’s West Village and East Hampton; and her longtime hometown of Montclair, New Jersey.
